Country Music: My Hero

If I had to pick one thing or person on this earth that is my hero it would be country music. I am writing this to honor the country music legends that have impacted and influenced my life in numerous ways. I thank God every day that I am alive and living on this earth that I have parents that introduced me to these wonderful people with their inspiring songs and beautiful voices. One day I will do the same and pass the songs and artists I love down to them. There have been many instances in my life that country music helped heal me. This is something that I will never be able to explain, you just have to be a country music lover to know the feeling I am talking about. Country music has a way of expressing words and feelings in a miraculously moving way. So on the bad days and times that I ever encounter, I turn to this amazingly wonderful and perfect music to lift my spirits. I truly cannot grasp the thought of people on this earth walking around not liking this style of music. Do they have a soul? A Heart? Emotion? When I hear someone talk bad about MY music, I get angry, if not hurt. For country music, is who i am. It is imbeded in my soul and written all over every single part of me, through and through. It has taught me more life lessons alone than any other thing or person on this earth. And if you don't like it, then you sure as hell won't like me. As long as were on the country music topic, I would like to address the following so called country music acts: Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Craig Morgan, and many many more. If you say or think you like country music and any of these people are on your list of favorites, then you do not like country music. They are simply not country, nothing about them is a real country music singer. In fact, they go against everything country music stands for. Country music stands for real matters of life such as love, faith, hope, honor, dignity, tragedy, friendship, and pride. All of the people listed above do NOT stand for any of these things. The people who do however go as follows: Hank Williams Jr and Sr, Keith Whitley, Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn, George Strait, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Gary Allan, Clint Black, Aaron Tippin, Ashton Shepherd, Garth Brooks, Doug Stone, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Dwight Yoakam, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, Charlie Robison, Darryl Singletary and many many many more.

*If any of you out there have one of those days that you just cannot understand how you will ever get through, I suggest you listen to or read the words to this song. It always puts a smile on my face. I can just imagine what Keith Whitley was feeling and thinking as the words poured out of his soul.

I'm no stranger to the rain
I'm a friend of thunder
Friend, is it any wonder lightning strikes me
I've fought with the devil
Got down on his level
But I never gave in, so he gave up on me

I'm no stranger to the rain
I can spot bad weather
And I'm good at finding shelter in a downpour
I've been sacrificed by brothers
Crucified by lovers
But through it all I withstood the pain
I'm no stranger to the rain

But when I get that foggy feeling
When I'm feeling down
If I don't keep my head up, I may drown
But it's hard to keep believing
I'll even come out even
While the rain beats your hope in the ground
And tonight it's really coming down

I'm no stranger to the rain
But there'll always be tomorrow
And I'll beg, steal, or borrow a little sunshine
And I'll put this cloud behind me
That's how the Man designed me
To ride the wind and dance in a hurricane
I'm no stranger to the rain

Over my hair...

I have been growing my hair out for almost a year now out of the short wedge haircut. It is taking forever. I'm wanting to grow it out real long so I can curl it and do different stuff with it. I'm already getting to the stage where I feel like it's boring, flat, and dull. I will probably end up cutting it after taking all this time to grow it knowing me haha. I've got a hair app. next month to get highlights and my bangs trimmed. They are way too long right now. Here is a picture of a girl with bangs how I want mine cut. I saw her on tv the other day and snapped a pic ha...

Upcoming Events

Tomorrow Kevin and I are going to both sets of his grandparents houses to hang out and visit. Then, we are gonna have a date night and eat at Olive Garden and go see Time Traveler's Wife! I can't wait. We have both been craving Olive Garden for months now and I've been dying to see that movie. I finally talked Kevin into going haha. Tonight we just stayed in to rest up for the big day tomorrow. :)
Labor Day weekend is coming up and me and a few of my friends are going to the Pep Boys 500 race in Atlanta! I recently became a huge Nascar fan and have grown to love the sport. We are getting a hotel afterwards to avoid the long drive back that night. Then, Monday on actual Labor Day I hope to get out in the sun somewhere and relax. But before this fun weekend can start, I will have a lot of reading and homework to get finished up for school :/
